Biography:         Pearl (and her sister Swisher Sweet) came to Witty Kitties as a favor to an elderly couple who lived nearby.  They had to move into a nursing home, and could take only two of their four cats.  But Pearl didn't stay with us very long!  A couple weeks later, Janet Wilson, a wonderful cat-lover who rescued a stray kitty named Biscuit, decided to adopt Pearl.  You see, Janet had planned on keeping Biscuit, but then found out Biscuit had the feline leukemia virus and Janet didn't want to expose her other cats to the virus.  So we arranged a trade of sorts -- we took in Biscuit, and Janet adopted beautiful Pearl.  As a 10 year old, Pearl's odds weren't good at getting adopted in a regular shelter.  We are very grateful for the wonderful new year's gift that Janet gave Pearl, who can now continue to live in a regular home, just like she has for the first 10 years of her life.
