Biography:         A stray cat had been hanging around a kind lady's work place in Waverly over the winter.  She kept trying to catch him, but he was so scared he would run away.  Then one day she found him hiding under her car to try to keep warm, and he allowed her to coax him out!!  She took him to Waverly Pet Rescue and he melted in Sheri's arms -- he was sooooo happy to be warm and safe, even though he tested positive for FIV.  Sheri named him Walter.  A couple months later he came to Witty Kitties.  Since we already had a long-time, notorious resident named Walter, what else could we name him but Walternate??  He is gentle and sweet and loves to sit on the couch next to you or, better yet, ON you!!  Laps are one of his favorite things!
