Lick O'Rish    pawprints5.gif   pawprints5.gif   pawprints5.gif   pawprints5.gif

Little Lick developed hemolytic anemia and actual leukemia.  After loving him up over several days, when he stopped eating we helped him over the bridge on 08/14/19.  RIP sweet boy.

Biography:         Lick O'Rish was owned by a senior citizen who had serious medical issues and no relatives/friends who could take him on.  He had been an indoor cat for years, and when Safe Haven of Iowa County accepted him, they were surprised that he tested positive for FeLV.  Jeannie, a former Witty Kitties volunteer and now a SHIC board member, contacted us about a trade, since SHIC has a room for FIV cats but not for FeLV.  We traded Corn Pop for Lick, and both boys have settled in to their new digs.  Lick is such a sweet boy.  He's very petite and people often think he's a "she."  But don't let his size fool you.  He's a little bit bossy with some of the other cats, but not aggressive.  In fact, he loves ear scratches and being loved on.  He's very active and loves running around his room; his small stature makes him seem very kittenish.  He's had most of his teeth removed, but otherwise all his blood work looks good and he could have many more years ahead of him.
