Biography: Monte was a stray who was turned in to the Poweshiek Animal League Shelter (PALS). He had a funny tilt to his head when he was first rescued, which turned out to be ear mites (totally resolved after treatment). He also tested positive for feline leukemia virus, but we were full when PALS contacted us and we had to say no. Only a few days later, however, one of our favorites, Brady (who was also from PALS) passed away unexpectedly, and Monte came the following weekend. Monte spent a couple days in a haven getting to know his roommates. Once we opened the haven door, he discovered the cat door to the outside almost immediately, and is spending much of his time chasing bugs and romping about. He's a little leery of people right now, but he's only been here a week. After he gets to know our routine a little better, we're sure he'll warm up to us, since he was a very friendly boy at PALS.
