Biography:        Georgie is the saddest story ever at Witty Kitties, and at the same time a wonderful story of true love.  Shane and Andrea had been caring for Georgie, a stray, outdoor cat near their home in Vermillion, SD, for several months.  He was sweet and friendly and loved to hang out on their deck.  Unfortunately, he tested positive for the feline leukemia virus.  When they had to relocate to Rapid City, they made arrangements with a friend to take care of Georgie while they continued to searched for a shelter.  On less than a week's notice, they rearranged their lives and drove 12 hours to bring Georgie to us.  This was obviously one very special, and very loved, kitty.  Sadly, though, when Jenni examined Georgie shortly after he arrived, she discovered he was suffering from both a collapsed lung and end stage liver disease.  There was no cure possible, and he was having trouble breathing.  While still driving home, Shane and Andrea had to make the difficult decision to allow us to help Georgie over the rainbow bridge.  We know the drive home was a sad one, but their loving decision was the best one for Georgie.  He is in a better place now, and we were privileged to know him, however briefly.
