Biography: Rascal was part of an Iowa City colony that Amy Holcomb (Witty Kitties board member) and Megan Johnson were caring for. Amy became suspicious that something may be wrong with him when she realized she could call his name while approaching him with no reaction on his part. She also noticed a funny (but very endearing!) head tilt. Amy trapped him (along with all the rest of the colony!) and had him fixed at the Iowa Humane Alliance spay/neuter clinic. He was underweight and had an abscess on his tail, in addition to his hearing problem. Dr. Doll is not sure what the head tilt is all about, but it could be mild cerebellar hypoplasia. Since a deaf cat would be so vulnerable as part of an outdoor colony, we took him in at Witty Kitties, with an anticipated transfer to ICACAC once he gained some weight and was socialized. But Megan decided she had fallen hopelessly in love, so his stay here was very brief, but endlessly entertaining!!!
Special Needs: Likely deaf, possible mild cerebellar hypoplasia
